Imagine a place where creatives gather. Where thoughts and concepts are fabricated, tested, incubated and developed into highly valued works of genius. Houston Makerspace is that place.
As of April 12th, 2014, Houstonians now have access to an unparalleled arena of workspace offerings including a wood shop, metal shop, rapid prototyping lab (read: lasercutters and 3D printers!), screen printing studio, letterpress shop, jewelry studio, and sewing and textiles lab. We have recently obtained equipment for ceramics, glassblowing, and blacksmithing and have begun build-out on our 10,000 square foot community garden. Classrooms and studio space are also available.
Houston Makerspace takes the risk of opening and operating your own space out of the equation and reduces it to a fixed cost on which to base your business plans. You only pay for what you use, removing the burden of long leases. It's like a gym, for makers!

We are pleased to announce that we have secured a space in the heart of East Downtown
at 100 Hutcheson Street!
In this location we will provide our members with more than 21,000 square feet of space to meet the needs of our diverse maker community. This space will house our initial shops, providing areas for those interested jewelry fabrication, screen printing, rapid prototyping, carpentry/metal work, and sewing and textiles. We will also have classrooms to house our educational programs in addition to over 5,000 square feet of climate controlled office/studio space and a coworking lounge for an individualized focus. All guests will have access to both fenced and secure car parking and also a 10,000 square foot green space which will serve as our community garden.
