Fabric Flowers

Untitled-1.jpg

In this workshop, students will learn 5 different versions of fabric flowers. We will be covering hand stitching techniques and suitable fabric choices for each flower, as well as different options for added personal touches.  For this class, pre-assembled kits will be provided for time efficiency, and no sewing machine is required.

All materials will be provided to make these beautiful, lasting fabric flowers. There are many different ways to use these flowers as decorative touches, and we will show techniques that can be used to attach them to anything. Handbags, lampshades, hair accessories, hats, garments and many more!

Upon completion of this class, you will have 5 beautiful, different fabric flowers to take home, as well as the patterns and skills to make many more.

Your fee is inclusive of all supplies and costs. Classes usually run for 3 hours.

Elizabeth Mireles has been sewing since she was a little girl, and it has always been a part of her life. In early 2012, she decided to make her passion a career and enrolled in the HCC Fashion Design Program. At that time she also started her business, "Ms. Sew it All", designing and sewing custom costumes, dresses and swimwear.  Elizabeth's garments are vintage inspired from the 40s and 50s era. In February of 2013 she started working part-time at the Houston Ballet Costume Shop. Due to amazing teachers, Elizabeth has been able to achieve many of her goals including launching a small collection, available at EAMirelesDesigns.com.

"I hope to inspire and share my love of sewing with you. If you have any requests for certain workshops, feel free to let me know!"
