Interested in growing your own fruit trees but aren't sure where to start? This month you can join the experts from Edible Earth Resources for a "Fruit for Houston" class. This class will teach participants which fruit trees are best for Houston, how to select a site and plant your tree, as well as maintenance and harvesting. Some time will be spent in the classroom and some will be spent actually planting a tree in the teaching garden at Houston Makerspace.

The cost is $35 per person, and those 15 and under can come along and watch for free. Part of this class will be in the garden - wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring a pair of gloves if you have them, and closed-toed shoes only please.
